I did not discover that I had any artistic talent until I was about 70. But now, somehow, I find myself as the president of the Columbus Artists’ Guild. Having a career teaching music and serving as a church organist for more than 60 years, my focus has always been on music. During my travels to other countries, I failed to notice all the art around me. But in the past few years during my travels to France, Germany, England and Italy, art now jumps out at me from everywhere.
My art has been a great comfort and stabilizing factor for me during a major illness and times of great sadness due to the loss of loved ones. Although I have dabbled in all media, my mediums are finger-painting, oils, watercolors, pastels, pencil, and acrylics. If I had to pick one, my favorite is finger-painting with oils.
