Booth Malone is a graduate of Auburn University, and (some-what as a result), a professional artist in his day-to-day and past President of the American Academy of Equine Art. Taking a page from the Robert Caro school of research, he is a frequent visitor to the 1860s and to the sites mentioned in his book, while yet residing in Midland, GA.
